I plan to do a documentary about the legendary Warner Bros director, Michael Curtiz. He directed Adventures of Robin Hood, Casablanca, Yankee Doodle Dandy, White Christmas and other American film classics. I would like to discuss Curtiz’ films, his style of directing, his lack of recognition as an auteur and his influence as a film director. It will be about 4-5 minutes long.
For my A-roll, I plan on interviewing a few professors involved in the Communications department, that know a lot about film history. I also hope to interview film students and non-film students who don’t know who Curtiz is in order to see how they respond when I mention a classic film they might’ve seen from him. I also plan on interviewing members of Works in Progress (film club).
For my B-roll, I plan to use footage from several Curtiz films like Casablanca, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Robin Hood and so forth.
